Caspa

Moving from Queensland with her two boys aged 7 and 10, Caspa was facing a difficult time  securing work.  Caspa’s reason for moving was for belief there were more job opportunities in Sydney.  But her experience was, there may be jobs but it was really tough to secure one.

Applying for countless jobs, Caspa was either unsuccessful or never heard back from them.

And the challenges of her and the boys living with her cousin in an already overcrowded home were making her question the interstate move.

But luckily in November, Caspa found Yarn’n on Facebook where she started keeping an eye out for positions that she would be interested in.  It wasn’t long before a position became available that Caspa wanted to apply for.  Whilst her experiences may not have been directly related to the job, we assisted Caspa to identify her skills and coached her through the application, preparation and interview process.

Around this time Caspa’s accommodation situation worsened and her and her boys had to stay in a motel.

Finally some good news.  Caspa won the job and soon found stable accommodation for herself and her family.

Studying the Certificate IV in Human Resouces whilst working full time creates lots of challenges but Caspa say’s she loves her role and the people she works with.  She hopes to teach her children to independent just like her.

According to Caspa,

“It was nice to reflect on my journey so far.  It makes me appreciate where I am today.  After the long way I’ve come, I think I’ll set more goals to complete even more achievements.  All things are possible”
